Few roles embody the spirit of our value of RealInnovation more clearly than the work Sneha Rajen is doing as Realtor.com’s first-ever Senior AI Solutions Engineer.

Sneha joined Realtor.com at a moment when artificial intelligence was rapidly reshaping industries, and when we were ready to invest in new tools, processes, and talent to help lead that change thoughtfully and responsibly.

We spoke to Sneha to learn more about her career journey and how she’s bringing RealInnovation to life at Realtor.com with a people-first approach to AI.

From Data Science to AI Leadership

Before joining Realtor.com, Sneha was working as a senior data scientist at General Motors, where fast-paced experimentation was part of the job. While there, she also completed her master’s degree in AI at Johns Hopkins. Those two experiences reinforced what would become a defining theme in her career: innovation thrives where learning, experimentation, and adaptability intersect.

“I loved the fast pace of iteration at GM, and I was excited about all the ways AI was unlocking new possibilities, both in terms of disruption and innovation,” Sneha said.

When she came across the role at Realtor.com, she immediately noticed the alignment. “Our ‘test-and-learn, fail fast, and keep growing’ mindset really appealed to me,” she said. “My role is a mix of technical work and change management focused on how we can help people embrace AI, even if it seems a little scary or overwhelming at first.”

Just as important, the role offered variety and collaboration. “The role is rooted in engineering, but it also enables me to work directly with stakeholders across the company from very different backgrounds,” Sneha said. “There’s never a boring day here!”

Creating Company-Wide Impact

Sneha’s position is a first of its kind at Realtor.com. But the significance goes beyond her job title to reflect a broader initiative across the organization: AI is foundational to the future of work.

“Leadership recognizes that we need someone focused full-time on building AI solutions and helping lift people up as things change rapidly,” Sneha said.

Although Sneha sits within the Technology Organization, she works closely with HR, Marketing, Communications, Sales, and other teams, meeting people where they are with respect to AI adoption and helping to translate AI’s potential into practical, meaningful solutions.

“We meet with teams to understand what parts of their jobs are manual, repetitive, or painful and explore how AI can help,” she said. “Sometimes we can build a solution; sometimes we uncover constraints, but I get to build the solutions and teach people what AI can actually do to make their work more enjoyable and efficient.”

That teaching component is especially meaningful. “People often come in thinking AI can just fix one thing, and I help them see how much more is possible. It’s rewarding to help them unlock that potential.”

Building Together: AI Champions and Project AmpAI

Sneha is part of a growing ecosystem of AI innovation at Realtor.com. She guides a committee of AI Champions – employees across the company who are eager to explore how AI can improve their work. This includes initiatives such as team hackathons, where employees learn about AI tools then apply them creatively to real business challenges.

“There’s a lot of excitement around AI here at Realtor.com,” Sneha said. “We have an intake process where AI ideas are submitted, and we prioritize projects based on impact. It’s data-driven and collaborative.”

Sneha’s work supports Project AmpAI – short for “Amplifying AI’s Impact at Realtor.com – which brings together a small but highly effective team that spans across verticals like HR, Marketing, Engineering, and Finance.

Currently, Sneha and the team are evaluating over 40 project requests. “Together, we’re bringing to life real-world AI-powered solutions that solve enterprise-wide problems,” Sneha said, adding that it’s exciting rather than overwhelming. “It shows how much trust and momentum there is here around AI and our team.”

Ensuring Responsible AI Innovation

Realtor.com takes a human-in-the-loop approach, meaning domain experts remain closely involved in evaluating and refining AI outputs and enforcing accountability.

“People want to understand how and why the AI works, where it fails, and what its limits are,” Sneha said. “Our domain experts help evaluate AI output against structured rubrics and industry standards.”

That emphasis on accountability is central to how innovation happens at Realtor.com. “AI isn’t a magical unicorn,” Sneha said. “People need to be responsible and accountable for the solutions they use, and that mindset is already part of our culture.”

Living RealInnovation

Sneha noted that RealInnovation shows up every day in how teams work and think. “AI is fundamentally changing how we work,” she says. “We’re moving beyond simple chat tools into orchestrated workflows and AI agents that remove tedious processes and enable people to focus on strategic thinking.”

Equally important is the company’s willingness to experiment. “If something doesn’t work, we move on,” she said. “With AI, you can test ideas in hours instead of weeks. That willingness to experiment changes how people think about work, teams, and deliverables.”

Sneha credits Realtor.com’s culture and leadership for making that possible. “There’s strong top-down and bottom-up support,” she said. “People are already thinking differently about how they work – and leadership is invested in long-term strategy.”

The Importance of Being Curious and Creative

According to Sneha, AI naturally sparks curiosity, but understanding the “why” behind how AI works is critical. “People aren’t just adopting tools,” Sneha said. “They’re changing how they think about their teams, their processes, and what’s possible.”

And, to scale that impact across Realtor.com, Sneha will be working with our AI Champions – a group of 30 Realtor.com employees who are learning about AI and brainstorming ways to implement it within their teams.

“While we’re tackling targeted bottlenecks for individual teams, we’re also building enterprise AI solutions that can be adopted and practiced broadly across the organization,” she said. “It’s exciting to contribute to the diverse ways AI is creating impact across the company.”
